Jeri Helfer is the Director of the New Wave Volleyball Club.

She currently sits on the Ohio Valley Region Board of USA Volleyball.  

Jeri was the Varsity Coach at Newark Catholic High School from 2000 – 2016. In her 17 years at NC she had an overall record of 379-80, during which she has coached a 2004 Division III State Championship Team, a 2005 Division IV State Runner-Up, 6 Final Four Teams, 8 MSL Championships, 3 Licking County League Championships, and 10 District Championships. She was named Coach of the Year in the Mid-State League 8 times, the LCL 3 times, and Coach of the Year in the Central District 14 times. Jeri received the state Distinguished Coach Award in Division III in 2003 and Division IV in 2005 and 2014.

Jeri was an assistant at Otterbein College for 8 years. She also coached in the Westerville Club Volleyball program during that time winning the 18-and-under Ohio Valley Regional Championships.

Jeri played collegiate volleyball at Capital University.

Katie is in her 4th year as Assistant Director for New Wave.  She coaches our 15-American team, and is in charge of coaching development. Katie is the varsity assistant coach at Newark Catholic High School. She helped guide NC to the Final Four in 2022.  Before that, Katie was the junior high coach at NC.  She is also very active in the NC Junior High softball program, and the YMCA youth volleyball league.  Katie is mom to Gabbie Hill on 14-American.
